Our History

 The founders of the foundation - Helmut and his late wife Carmen Weisser – did grow up during a difficult time in Germany. Air raids, spending many nights in bomb shelters and limited supplies were frequent. The multiple bombings of Stuttgart took the household of Helmut’s family. But Carmen’s hometown was a frequent target too. The years during and even more after war brought poverty, starvation, limited living space and shortage of health care. Both Helmut and Carmen had to live with that burden and had to help in their early years to support the family as best they could. That experience did stay in their mind for the rest of their lives and did drive them to help ever where people were in need.   

Later in their life they learned fast what is needed to improve the situations. With dedication and hard work, both Helmut and Carmen, progressed up the ladder for higher positions in their careers. Many years of their life they got assignments to emerging countries. There, in leading positions, they helped wherever they could and when help was needed. Supporting orphan houses, clinics, education for children, animal protection, environment protection, and health care for children and elderly people just to mention a few of them.   

After moving to USA, both focused to support organizations with focus of their preferences in all their years of experience. 

After retirement, Helmut and Carmen decided to have their permanent place of living in USA and applied and received the citizenship of the United States of America to be proud citizens of this great Nation.   

With all the challenges and life experiences, they decided to donate their remaining assets in USA to create the Helmut and Carmen Weisser Foundation Inc. as a legacy of their life. 

Helmut and Carmen Weisser did set up the Foundation with dedicated and high integrity Board members in charge of it. The Board shall execute and manage the Business, Grants and Growth in a way the founders wish it in the years to come.
